Tero Buru

By Beldina Odenyo

Four women are summoned back to the African continent as strangers, eventually becoming sisters with one common thread: the blood of priestesses.

When Beldina Odenyo died in 2021 she left an unstaged play, Tero Buru, named after her ancestors' funeral ritual.

A cast of dancers, musicians & actors tour this play in a spectacular production directed by Julia Taudevin as requested by Beldina before her death. Produced by Disaster Plan in association with the National Theatre of Scotland. This performance was a public performance in November 2024 which was not open to reviewers out of respect to Beldina’s grieving family.
